COFFEE HUNTERS STORY
In 2013, an undeveloped plot was established within the Selva Negra Farm as a new plot using the seeds from these Kenya trees. This plot is named “Kenya Escondido.” Escondido means “hidden” or “concealed” in Spanish. The “Reserva Kenya” plot is located at an elevation of 1,700 meters and only after climbing through a forest behind this plot, do we find the “Kenya Escondido” plot in the middle of the forest. Located at an elevation of 1,773 meters, it is truly a hidden plot. While located in the highlands on the slope of Santa Ana volcano, the forest provides a windbreak and protects the coffee trees. Standing in the middle of this plot, you are entirely surrounded by nature, giving a sensation of wanting to stay there forever.
The first harvest of this coffee was in 2016, and it was processed using the traditional wet method. Surprisingly, it’ s quality surpassed the “Reserva Kenya” standard, making it to a “Grand Cru Café Limited” . From 2019, we proudly present this coffee prepared using a natural process.
