COFFEE HUNTERS STORY

Montecarlos Estate stands out as a glorious coffee estate. It extends over the slopes of a single volcano cinder cone in Apaneca, a region located in El Salvador’ s Ahuachapán Department, which is known for its coffee cultivation. Carlos Batres, the farm owner and a descendant of a family dedicated to coffee cultivation since the 1880s, manages 420 hectares of coffee farm and 140 hectares of native forest located on the volcano from an elevation of 1,000 meters to the summit at 1,750 meters above sea level. Of all the estate’ s coffees, Pacamara cultivar of Coffee Arabica is grown only in the Grand Cru field situated near the summit. Pacamara is a hybrid of Pacas and Maragogype cultivar adapting only the benefits from these two cultivars. The temperature fluctuations between day and night due to the high elevation allow the coffee beans to mature at a leisurely pace and become dense, bringing a natural sweetness to the palate.

2021

This premium Pacamara coffee features bold flavors resembling pinapple and onion. The coffee has a clear acidity, like a semi-sparkling water, together with a thick sweetness reminiscent of a whiskey.

2019

It has an extremely clear and transparent acidity with champagne-like juiciness and a smooth freshness. It also has a strong toastiness resembling onion with a full and fascinating complexity.

2018

Flavor of lemon and acerola. Once in the mouth, its aroma pops out and spreads resembling champagne. The straight and rich acidity feels like dazzling, feeling refreshed as if the birds were singing in nature.

2017

Within the outstanding aroma of pineapples and grapefruits, the slight toasty aroma of roast chestnuts and soy sauce can be felt. It has a juicy sweetness with an aftertaste resembling white wine.

2015

Condensed flavor of dry fruits. An overflowing freshness with remarkable sweetness illustrates the high-quality level of this coffee.

Strong tropical fruits flavor. It has a mild and fresh mouthfeel with an aftertaste of lingering toasty aroma.
